Bielenberg Sports Center has reviewed the operating policy with regard to prohibited items.

On the list of prohibited items are the use of skate boards, in-line skates (which includes roller skates and Roller Blades), wheeled shoes and the use of wheeled skate guards.

We have seen a recent number of skaters using  wheeled skate guards in the lobby and hallway areas. We have safety concerns with regard to this use and coupled with the fact that BSC has all skate friendly rubber based flooring in all areas, we ask WAHC and WFSC to help us provide a safe environment for everyone inside the BSC spaces by not using wheeled skate guards at BSC.

BSC will be installing signage to help others from bringing these items into the building.

We have asked neighboring arenas and each has defined the wheel skate guards within the same policy as skate boards, in-line skates and wheeled shoes which are prohibited in most rinks.

Please pass this information on to the memberships.

The BSC staff will begin enforcement as needed with individuals right away by asking them to not use these guards inside of BSC.

We will ask that the guards be removed immediately as all of the inside flooring is rubber based and safe for skaters to walk on with the blades.
