WAHC Announces New Goalie Training Program for 2010-2011 Season
As mentioned in the Pre-Season Camp announcement, the Club has recently engaged in an extensive ‘request for proposal’ (RFP) from metropolitan-based providers of goalie training services. A committee comprised of various Club coaches and boys and girls coaches from both Woodbury High School and East Ridge High School reviewed the various proposals, interviewed the candidates and collaborated to recommend level-specific goalie instructors moving forward. These recommendations were reviewed and approved by the Board, and we’re pleased to announce the following:
- The Carroll Goalie School – led be Steve Carroll – will drive goalie instruction at the SuperMite/U8 and Squirt/U10 levels.
- ProHybrid Training – led Zach Sikich – will drive goalie instruction at the PeeWee/U12 and Bantam/U14 levels.
We’re excited to have these leading providers of goalie instruction become an integral part of the Club’s development process – from Pre-Season Camp (PSC) and clinic support, through tryout evaluations and in-season development sessions. Note: Both the Carroll School and ProHybrid will lead the 2 goalie-only sessions that are included in the PSC and the additional session included in clinics. They will also provide 1-on-1 support during one of the 3-on-3 sessions within the PSC.
We’ll share more about the goalie curriculum in the weeks ahead, including an increased effort to have goalie instructors participate in team practices during the season.
Thank you for your continued support!
