Goalie Equipment Policy

Our goal is to provide certain goalie equipment to Squirt/10U and Mite/8U goalies to create opportunities to try the position and help with the financial burden on members.  We do our best to balance the needs of our goalies while being good stewards of the financial resources of the club.

WAHC provides the following goalie equipment dependent on level:

Mites/8U

Full goalie equipment bags will be provided to Mite/8U teams during each season to allow trying the position at no cost.  the gear is issued to the Head coach of each team and is rotated as players try the position.

Squirts/10U

Leg pads, glove and blocker will be provided.  This equipment will be issued as a set, age appropriate and performance matched.

PeeWees/12U and Bantams/15U and JrGold/16U

Equipment is not provided by WAHC at these levels.

Goalie equipment must be returned by March 31st after the regular season play. Equipment for summer play will be checked out at the discretion of the Goalie Equipment Director. All summer play equipment must be returned by the 31st of August.

Equipment Check-out & Return

To Check Out Equipment:

You may check out equipment from the Club as outlined below:

  • For Squirt/10U, please contact the Goalie Equipment Director (goalieequipment@woodburyhockey.com)
    • Sign the Goalie Equipment Loan Terms and Conditions form.
    • Pay a $250 Security Deposit by check or credit card.  Security deposit will not be cashed unless equipment is damaged or not returned.
  • For Mite/8U players, goalie equipment will be provided to each team.

Equipment Return & Annual Sizing Event

Club equipment must be turned in at the end of each season at the time and place designated by the WAHC Goalie Equipment Coordinator. There will be an annual sizing event in the summer to help the Equipment Manager distribute equipment by size needs and manage inventory accordingly.  Goalies moving up an age level will be expected to turn in their equipment and receive different equipment in an age appropriate size.

Equipment Condition & Maintenance

The equipment provided will always be in good, useable condition and will be the right size for your goalie. Due to financial constraints, the club can only buy a limited amount of new equipment every year, and as such most of our gear is used.  To help ensure the durability of our gear, loaned Club equipment is to be treated as though it belongs to you and must be air dried after each use. It is a privilege to borrow the Club’s goalie equipment, not a right. This privilege can be revoked if the Club determines the equipment has been mistreated.

Goalie Equipment Repair Policy

It is the policy of WAHC to repair any club owned goalie equipment at the cost of the Club. The Club has set up an account with George’s Shoe and Skate Repair, located at 672 ½ Grand Avenue, Saint Paul, MN 55105 for all approved repairs.

We ask that you take care of the gear like it was your own.  It is expensive and we want to use it for several years.  If your Club-issued gear needs repair at any time during the season, you can have pre-approved repairs made at George’s.  You will need to have Tim Dokken approve the repair and complete the Goalie Equipment Repair Form, which you can find by clicking on the document below.  Failure to obtain pre-approval will result in the cost of the repair being entirely your responsibility.

Before you return any gear, please arrange for any repairs, so that the gear is ready to be checked out the next year.
